From Annapolis' boat shows and sailing races to the Anne Arundel County Fair in Crownsville, the weekend calendar is rarely empty in Anne Arundel County. Here is a listing of some major events:

JUNE 2003

"Dinosaurs Galore, the Summer Shindig!": Dozens of 6-foot dinosaur statues are on display at the 875-acre Horizon Organic Dairy Farm and Education Center at 100 Dairy Lane in Gambrills weekends through July 6. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. The statutes will be auctioned off July 13. Information: 410-923-7600.

FOR THE RECORD - An item in Sunday's Anne Arundel Hometown Guide incorrectly reported that the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra planned to hold a pre-fourth of July concert at Anne Arundel Community College. The annual concert has been discontinued for financial reasons.

The Chesapeake Bluegrass Festival: Enjoy a day of bluegrass music, from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. today at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds, in Crownsville. Gates open at 8:30 a.m. and the event will be held rain or shine. Workshops will be offered in various instruments and songwriting. Vendor/craft space is available. 410-923-3400.

Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre: The drama company will present Merry Wives of Windsor, June 27 through July 26 at Theatre under the Stars, 143 Compromise St., Annapolis. 410-268-9212.

Old-fashioned waterfront picnic: Oyster shucking, crab picking and pony rides are among the activities at this event celebrating Southern Maryland. Hours are from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. June 29 at Historic Village at Herrington Harbour North. 410-222-1919

JULY 2003

Star-Spangled Celebration: The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra will perform July 3 at this pre-Fourth party at Anne Arundel Community College's Siegert Field.

Fourth of July Celebration: Thousands flock to Annapolis' annual celebration, which features an afternoon concert by the U.S. Naval Academy Band at Farrago Field and a spectacular fireworks display on the waterfront. 410-263-1183.

Captain Salem Avery House Museum: The South County community of Shady Side marks the Fourth with a day of activities starting at 12:30 p.m., including a flag-raising, games for children, music by the Bay Winds Band and the Shady Side Sour Notes. 301-261-5234.

Independence Day: Enjoy July Fourth events in Crofton, Fort Meade, Galesville, Severna Park and around the county.

Colonial demonstrations: Demonstrations of hearth cooking, colonial crafts and daily activities will be featured from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. July 6 at this park, located on the site of the Colonial settlement of London Town. 301-261-5234

The Big Carnival: Enjoy rides, games of chance, good food and more at the Glen Burnie Carnival, sponsored by Glen Burnie Improvement Association from July 25 to Aug. 2. Hours are 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Friday; 6 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday; 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday. 410-766-6760.

Horizon Organic Acoustic and Roots Music Festival: The Horizon Organic Acoustic and Roots Music Festival will be held at Horizon Organic Farm and Recreation Center, in Gambrllls. Hours are from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. July 25, and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. July 26 and 27. The festival will feature 30 bands on two stages. 410-481-7328.

Waterfront picnic: Another in a series of old-fashioned waterfront picnics will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. July 27 at Historic Village at Herrington Harbour North. 410-222-1919.

AUGUST 2003

Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre: See My Fair Lady Aug. 1 through Aug. 30 at Theatre under the Stars, 143 Compromise St., Annapolis. 410-268-9212.

The 58th Annual Rotary Crab Feast: Billed as "more than just a crab feast," this event, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 1 at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, also features a silent auction, crab feast souvenirs, raffles and cash prizes. Tickets are $45 for adults and $15 for children ages 6 to 12. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or by emailing info@annapolisrotary .com.

"Brigadoon": This classic Lerner & Lowe musical will be performed by the Talent Machine Company Aug. 1 to Aug. 17 in Key Auditorium at St. John's College, Annapolis. 410-956-0512.

Annual Annapolis Art Walk: Tour 20 galleries and enjoy refreshments, music and artist demonstrations from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Aug. 7., sponsored by Annapolis Gallery Association. 410-267-7077.

Kunta Kinte Heritage Festival: This event, named for a slave who arrived at Annapolis' City Dock and inspired Alex Haley's Roots, celebrates the heritage, culture, history, music and cuisine of Africans, African-Americans, and those with African and Caribbean heritage.
