A Baltimore police officer was indicted yesterday on assault, burglary, gun and malicious destruction charges that stemmed from allegations he hit his estranged wife's friend in the face with a gun in her North Laurel home.
A Howard County grand jury returned the four-count indictment against Leon C. Robinson, 40, of the 7500 block of Baleen Court in Glen Burnie. The four-year member of the city Police Department worked in the Northwestern District but has been suspended without pay as a result of the May 3 allegations, a police spokesman said.
Andrea Robinson told police he had assaulted Frederick Hayes, according to charging documents; Hayes told investigators that Leon Robinson kicked in the door and pointed a gun at him before hitting him.
