Anne Arundel County police released a description yesterday of a red Honda Accord they say was seen speeding away from the site of a fatal shooting Friday night in Glen Burnie.

Two men were shot near a community mailbox in the area of Harrison Square after they had a verbal confrontation with the occupants of a car.

One of the victims, Jaron Lana Spears, 19, of Glen Burnie, was killed. The second victim, a 21-year-old Glen Burnie resident, was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center with gunshot wounds and was released Sunday. His name is not being disclosed because of the investigation, police said.

Police said the Accord has white paint on its rear driver's-side panel. Its Maryland tag number is KMT 271. The car was reported stolen from a residence in Howard County, said Lt. Joseph Jordan of the Anne Arundel County police.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Northern District police station at 410-222- 6135 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 410-276-8888. A $2,000 reward is available through Crime Stoppers for information leading to the arrest and indictment of any suspects.
