Celebrate Youth Expo set Saturday at Farm Museum

The Partnership for a Healthier Carroll County and its Alliance project will hold the Celebrate Youth Expo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Carroll County Farm Museum.

This youth-planned event gives Carroll County's young people a chance to show off their talents and interests in a healthy and safe environment. Featured activities will include dance and musical performances, a fashion show, art display, skateboard demonstrations, car show, food and games. Admission is free.

The event will feature two stages for youth to showcase their talents in music, karate, dance and magic. Musical performances will include the North Carroll High School Show Choir, and the bands Tax Deductions, SOMA and Fallout. Youth at Choe's Hap Ki Do will give a karate demonstration and magician E.J. Kreinar will perform. Dancers from the Merritt Dance Academy in Eldersburg and State of the Arts in Westminster will perform.

A youth car show, fashion show, art show and equestrian demonstration also will be featured. A professional skateboard team and a BMX demonstration will round out the entertainment.

Those attending also will be invited to take part in interactive art projects created by teens at the Community Learning Center after-school program. Local youth clubs will sell items, crafts and services, with proceeds going to their respective organizations.

Food vendors will be open all day.

The Celebrate Youth EXPO is the culmination of Celebrate Youth Year, showcasing the positive contributions of Carroll County's young people.
