Charles Hashagen wins Richard H. Carter Award

The selection committee for the Richard H. Carter Award met recently to choose Charles Hashagen of Glen Burnie as this year's recipient. Hashagen has been an active volunteer for the past 30 years. A member of the Carter family will present Hashagen with a plaque at the reviewing stand during the Glen Burnie Memorial Day Parade today.

Hashagen has been involved with several organizations including North County Emergency Outreach Network, Glen Burnie Masonic Lodge No. 213, Lutheran Brotherhood, Glen Lutheran Church Council, Food Link of Anne Arundel County, Mary's Center, Glen Burnie Carnival and the Boy Scouts of America.

Hashagen's name will be added to the Glen Burnie Improvement Association Award plaque and the organization will make a $200 contribution to the charity or volunteer organization of his choice.
