Lauren Wittlesberger (Dulaney) had six goals and five assists to help top-seeded CCBC-Catonsville to its third consecutive national junior college women's lacrosse championship, a 19-5 decision over third-seeded Harford Community College yesterday at Catonsville.
The game was originally scheduled for last Sunday, but rain in Syracuse, N.Y., forced the game back to Maryland.
"Winning one is great, two is greater and three is the greatest," said coach Tom Taylor. "It's easy to win the race when you've got the horses."
Catonsville (14-0) beat Nassau (N.Y.), 21-6, in Saturday's semifinal. Harford defeated Cayuga (N.Y.), 11-8, to advance to the final.
The Cardinals have won 27 games straight dating to 2001.
Catonsville opened the scoring, going on a 4-0 run in the first six minutes before Harford scored twice. Stefanie Ogle led Harford (11-4) with two goals.
