Doris Phipps Dollenberg, a lifelong Towson resident and former occupational therapist at Children's Hospital, died Thursday of complications from pneumonia at her home at Pickersgill Retirement Community in Towson. She was 90.
The youngest of six children, she graduated from Towson High School in 1931 and later received a certificate in occupational therapy. She worked as a therapist at Women's Hospital and Children's Hospital from 1933 to 1937. She returned to Children's Hospital in 1957 to head the facility's occupational therapy department, a position she held for 10 years.
She married Paul G. Dollenberg, a Towson surveyor and owner of Dollenberg Brothers, in 1934. Mr. Dollenberg died in 1988.
Mrs. Dollenberg was a lifelong member of Towson United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Women's Club of Towson and an active adviser with the Junior Women's Club of Towson. She played bridge and enjoyed nature.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Towson United Methodist Church, 501 Hampton Lane, Towson.
She is survived by a son, Paul Douglas Dollenberg of Lutherville; a daughter, Ann Dollenberg Reier of Glen Arm; and four grandchildren.
