FREDERICK J. PRESTI, a native of Baltimore, passed away on April 27, 2003. He was the devoted husband of Maysie Weckesser Presti for 51 years. Born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 16, 1926, he was the son of the late Stephen and Catherine (Crivella) Presti. Mr. Presti was a US Navy veteran, having served in Subic Bay in the Phillipines during World War II. After graduating from the Eastern College School of Commerce and Law, and became production superintendent at Schenuit Rubber Company in Baltimore. In 1964 he became plant manager of Carlisle Tire and Rubber Company. In 1977 he founded Presti Rubber Products and in 1984 Fred founded Hoke Rubber. In 1982 he founded Presti Group Inc. and went into business with his wife and children. With his wife and daughter, Janelle, Fred founded Dancers Extraordinaire of Doylestown in 1995. Fred was active in the community as a Cubmaster and a Little League coach and umpire. He was an active member of AFS International. He loved to travel and had the good fortune to see much of the world. He was a lifelong Baltimore Orioles fan and avid pinochle player. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Adeline Ricci of Barnstable, MA; a brother Albert Presti of Fayetteville, TN; eight children and 14 grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Doylestown, PA. Interment will be in Beulah Cemetery in New Britain, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the AJ Foundation (for children with autism), P.O. Box 234, Wycombe, PA 18980.
