JHU women roll past UNC, 12-2

Junior midfielder Heidi Pearce scored four goals and added two assists to lead the No. 19 Johns Hopkins women's lacrosse team to a 12-2 victory over No. 14 North Carolina yesterday at Homewood Field.

Hopkins won its fourth straight game to improve to 10-4 this season, reaching double digits in wins for the 11th straight year, including all 10 under coach Janine Tucker. The Tar Heels fell to 6-9.

With a 3-2 lead midway through the first half, the Blue Jays scored the last nine goals of the game to post their first victory over North Carolina in seven tries.
