PHILIP SHANER GORDON, 58, passed away on Thursday April 24, 2003, at Bayshore Medical Center in Pasadena, Texas. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on June 28, 1944 to Philip and Mildred Shaner. Philip served his country in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, detached to the United States Marine Corps, during the Vietnam War. He worked for NASA at the Johnson Space Center. Philip was a member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Philip is survived by his loving wife, Marcelina, two sons Richardson Perez and wife Carol Julia and Thomas Randolph Shaner; two grandchildren Christopher Thomas Perez and Jason Andrew Perez. Visitation was held on Saturday, April 26, 2003, after 6:00 and Sunday with a vigil at 7:30 P.M. at Crowder Funeral Home in Webster, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday April 28, 2003 at 10 A.M. at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, 15500 El Camino Real, Houston, Texas. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery with full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Wheel House in Deer Park, Texas or to St. Bernadette's Catholic CHurch.
