Brooklyn man dies in fatal shooting at home

Police remained without a suspect and knew of no motive yesterday in the fatal shooting Saturday morning of a Brooklyn man at the door of his home.

The victim answered a knock at his door in the 800 block of Herndon Court about 11:30 a.m. and was shot at least once in the side by an unknown assailant, police said after interviewing witnesses.

The bullet pierced his femoral artery, causing the man to quickly lose blood, and he died a short time later at Maryland Shock Trauma Center, police said. His name was withheld pending notification of relatives.

Anyone with information is urged to call Detectives Marvin E. Sydnor or Eric B. Sharp at 410-396-2100.
