Police trying to verify name of young man fatally shot

City homicide detectives were trying to verify yesterday the identity of a young man found shot to death early Saturday on a street in Northeast Baltimore.

Northeastern District officers investigating a report of gunshots in the 3200 block of Fenwick Ave. about 12:15 a.m. found the body of a male in his late teens or early 20s lying in the street with a bullet wound to the chest and possibly a second to the neck, police said.

Investigators had a tentative identification of the victim but had made no arrest in the killing. Anyone with information is urged to call Detective Todd F. Corriveau at 410- 396-2100.
