Dunn, Mary Frances

April 20, 2003

On Monday, April 7, 2003, MARY FRANCES (neeFallon) DUNN, died suddenly from a stroke at her home in Cockeysville, MD. Frances was still in good health and enjoying her life every day. This was a great shock to her family and friends. The daughter of Frank and Myrtle Fallon, she attended Seton High School and was recently one of several women in charge of organizing her classmates' 65th high school reunion. She married Charles James Dunn in 1939 and started a family in the Blessed Sacrament parish of Baltimore. They remained together until the time of Charles' death on October 31, 2002. They were married for 62 years, which speaks of a life of love and devotion that some people will never know. Frances had three children to whom she was devoted. She also enjoyed her time working at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in the 1950's and then had a successful career at the Hecht Company for well over 20 years. She was an avid Baltimore sports fan; she could never get enough of the Orioles, Colts, Ravens or Terrapins and could not wait for the Preakness in May. She had a love affair with the theatre and would frequently be seen supporting the theatre in Baltimore and New York with her sister and friends. She loved all music from the symphony to an Irish jig and was a great dancer. She never missed a movie and read a book every two weeks most of her adult life. In addition to her family, her two loves were her animals and the beach. She loved her cats and dogs in a special way that will never be forgotten and when she migrated to the ocean, which she did most of her adult life; she was always at her happiest. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten. Frances is survived by her daughter, Carole Frances, and Carole's husband, Frank Seddon; her son, Michael Charles Dunn and Jaye Spurling; her son, Patrick Kevin Dunn and Patrick's wife, Cindy; grandson, Scott; her sister Jane Cole and Jane's husband, Neill, and daughters Kate and Pat; her cousin, Marguerite McGlone and close family friends Conrad Brunette and Katherine Herring. A Memorial Mass will take place on May 3rd at 10 A.M. at Stella Maris Chapel in Timonium, MD. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Stella Maris, 2300 Dulaney Valley Rd., Timonium, MD 21093. Interment private.
