Eleanor Sandra Harris, 62, hospital administrator

Eleanor Sandra Harris, a researcher and administrator at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, died of complications from an infection yesterday at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. She was 62 and lived in Homeland.

She was born Eleanor Sandra Barnard in Baltimore, and reared in Dundalk. After graduating from Notre Dame Preparatory School in 1958, she earned a bachelor's degree in biology in 1962 from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.

She began her career at what was then known as the old Baltimore City Hospitals and later became Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

At her death, Mrs. Harris was also an administrator in the division of geriatric medicine and gerontology in the department of medicine of the Johns Hopkins University medical school.

Mrs. Harris was a former longtime Mayfield resident.

Her marriage to Larry Harris, former Evening Sun sportswriter, ended in divorce.

Since moving to Homeland several years ago, Mrs. Harris attended Mass at the Roman Catholic Cathedral of Mary Our Queen.

She was a former communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Harford Road and Pelham Avenue, Mayfield, where a Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday.

Mrs. Harris is survived by her daughter, Ashleigh Harris Wilkes of Abingdon.
