BOYS

Kevin Huntley

Calvert Hall Lacrosse

In two key Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference games last week, Huntley, a junior attackman, scored eight goals and had three assists.

A left-handed sharpshooter who runs Calvert Hall's offense, Huntley had two goals and two assists in a 7-6 overtime win over then-No. 3 Gilman on Tuesday. On Friday, he had six goals and an assist as the Cardinals (8-2, 4-2 MIAA A Conference) downed then-No. 7 St. Paul's.

A second-team All-Metro selection last year after recording 38 goals and 35 assists, Huntley has 43 goals and 19 assists this season and is averaging five goals in MIAA contests.

Cardinals coach Bryan Kelly called Huntley, who is in the National Honor Society and has a 3.8 GPA, the best player he's ever coached. Huntley will play for Team Canada in this summer's under-19 world championships at Towson University. GIRLS

Schuyler Sutton

Severn, lacrosse

The senior midfielder scored 14 goals and had five assists in three victories last week for the unbeaten and No. 5 Admirals.

A second-team All-Metro pick last season, Sutton contributed four goals to the 11-6 win over Potomac in the final of the Potomac Tournament. She had five goals and two assists in a 16-2 semifinal win over Bishop Ireton as well as five goals and three assists in a 13-7 regular-season win over McDonogh.

Sutton has 34 goals and 11 assists in nine games and leads her team in ground balls. She is a member of the U.S. under-19 training team, preparing for the under-19 world championship, at Towson University.

She carries a 3.2 grade point average and will play lacrosse at Georgetown next year.

Nominate athletes

The Sun accepts nominations for its Athletes of the Week on Sundays, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at 410-332-6200 or 1-800-829-8000, extension 6200.

Two athletes (one boy and one girl) will be selected each week and featured in Wednesday's editions. To be nominated, athletes must play for their high school team. Only coaches can nominate Athletes of the Week.
