Patricia Lee Heilman, 77, homemaker and volunteer

Patricia Lee Heilman, a homemaker and volunteer, died of ovarian cancer Thursday at her Severna Park home. She was 77.

She was born Patricia Loehr in Birmingham, Ala., where she was raised. During the early 1940s, she worked in Chicago as a secretary for Armour & Co. and International Harvester.

A Severna Park resident for 40 years, Mrs. Heilman was a longtime member of Pasadena United Methodist Church, where she was active in United Methodist Women. She also was a volunteer cook for 18 years with the Salvation Army.

Mrs. Heilman enjoyed cooking, entertaining her family and swimming at the Severna Park YWCA. She also was an avid reader.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at her church, 61 Ritchie Highway.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Alvin T. Heilman, a retired Crown Cork & Seal Co. Inc. executive; two daughters, Karen S. Potter of Manheim, Pa., and Gail L. Twilley of Millersville; a brother, James E. Loehr, and a sister, Mary Virginia Beard, both of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a stepsister, Dona Mae Boester of Fort Wayne; and four grandchildren.
