Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Southwestern District

Aggravated assault: A woman was in critical condition after city police found her unconscious in a field near Leakin Park about 2 a.m. yesterday with head injuries from an apparent beating by an unknown assailant. Police said they had been unable to identify the woman, who was found in the 3500 block of Winterbourne Road and was being treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Shooting: A 26-year-old man was shot in the chest and arm Saturday night in the 1300 block of Bloomingdale Road. The victim was taken to Shock Trauma with injuries that police said were not life-threatening.

Auto theft: A blue 1987 Chevrolet Cavalier was stolen Friday night in the 1400 block of Braddish Ave.

Northeastern District

Burglary: Two bicycles, a videocassette recorder, garden tools and porcelain dolls - all valued at $3,000 - were stolen from a house in the 6200 block of Catalpha Road between March 16 and Tuesday.

Southeastern District

Theft from vehicle: Heavy-duty clothing, boots, field glasses and a raincoat - all valued at $815 - were stolen Wednesday from a 1987 Isuzu truck parked in the 800 block of Plowman St.

Stolen vehicle: A black four-door 1997 Nissan with tags HVK 457 was stolen Tuesday in the 3100 block of Boston St.

Baltimore County

Woodlawn Precinct

Burglary: A video camera recorded three burglars in dark and baggy clothing entering Hertsch's Tavern in the 1900 block of Gwynn Oak Ave. through a rooftop skylight window between 2:15 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Thursday. At least $600 in cash was stolen from a cash box, and change was taken from video games.

Burglary: A house in the 2000 block of Rolling Road was ransacked between 2:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Saturday, when the owner returned to find the front door forced open and drawers opened. Nothing was reported taken.

White Marsh Precinct

Robbery attempt: A woman delivering food to the 5700 block of Hamilton Ave. about 10 a.m. Saturday was greeted by a man holding a handgun. The man demanded money, but the woman refused. She ran to the neighbor's house, then fled on foot.

Robbery attempt: A man using the telephone at the Royal Farms Store in the 7900 block of Pulaski Highway about 12:30 a.m. Saturday was approached by three men who demanded money. They pushed and grabbed the victim, but did not get money before fleeing.

Burglary: A 2000 Kawasaki motorcycle valued at $5,000 was stolen Wednesday from 5 Star Auto in the 9800 block of Philadelphia Road.

Cockeysville Precinct

Shoplifting arrest: A man tucked $50 worth of Porterhouse steaks under his shirt early Saturday afternoon and tried to leave Giant Food in the 1700 block of York Road without paying for them. Arrested by a store security officer and turned over to county police was a 42-year-old Overlea man. The steaks were recovered, but had to be destroyed.

Essex Precinct

Burglary: A 2002 Honda motorcycle valued at $5,500 was stolen from a garage in the 300 block of S. Woodward Ave. between April 4 and Wednesday.
