On April 6, 2003, LAURENCE VICTOR VOLRATH, 83, a decorated WWII veteran and B-17 pilot who flew 35 bombing missions over Germany, died in North Arundel Hospital. In addition to his wife, Frances, he is survived by two sons, Roger of Sykesville and David of Bel Air, MD; two sisters, Vera Amsden of Orlando, FL, and Yvonne Steel of Arnold, MD; and one brother, Vincent of Glen Burnie, MD; two grandsons, Kristopher and Colin. Funeral services will be held at the Curtis Bay United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 12 at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Cemetery in Glen Burnie. Visitations will be at the Singleton Funeral Home in Glen Burnie on Thursday, April 10 between 7 to 9 P.M. and on Friday, April 11, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M.
