On April 8, 2003, WELDON POPE, age 81, died on Tuesday at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was born October 29, 1921 in Baltimore, MD.; son of the late Archie W. and Charlotte Sutton Pope. Survivors include his friend and longtime companion of fifty years, Charles Seaman of Little River, SC,; son, Arthur Bonner and wife Maureen; granddaughter Bonnie of Myrtle Beach; brother Richard Pope and his wife, Jean of Columbia, SC and several nieces, nephews and many friends. Mr. Pope was the former owner of the Mt. Vernon Employment Service in Baltimore. He was a member and former Vice-President of the National Employment Agency Association, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and a veteran of World War II. Inurnment will be in Arlington National Cemetery. A local memorial service will be held at a later date.
