Government loans for community rehab topic of seminar

Tri-Churches Housing Inc. will hold a housing seminar this week to discuss government loans available for rehabilitating neighborhoods.

Fountainhead Title Group opens eight more offices

Columbia-based Fountainhead Title Group recently opened eight new offices in Maryland and Washington and hired 25 people. The new locations include Bethesda, Rockville, Silver Spring, Severna Park, Beltsville, Camp Springs, Frederick and Washington.

The company, founded in 1975, has 25 offices in five states and has about 250 employees.

Long & Foster reports record sales for March

Long & Foster reported last week that total sales last month reached an all-time record of $3.5 billion for March.

All 10 of Long & Foster's regions throughout the firm's seven-state market area posted increases for March.

The company said that its divisions in suburban Maryland, which has 19 offices, saw an increase of 9 percent to $343 million; Western Maryland, which has five offices, had an increase of 2 percent to $39 million; Eastern Shore, Maryland with 11 offices, was up 19 percent to $101 million; Baltimore/Southern Pennsylvania with 47 offices, reported a jump of 14 percent to $379 million.

The top five Baltimore offices were Timonium with $27.4 million; Annapolis with $27.3 million; Howard County at Waverly Woods with $26 million; Greenspring with $24 million, and Columbia with $20 million.

Sharon Johnson has joined Century 21 Diana Realty Inc. in Bel Air as a sales associate.

Community group to hold homebuying workshop

Garrison Boulevard United Neighbors Association Inc. will hold a free homebuying workshop this month.

The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 26 at 2508 Garrison Blvd., which is at the corner of Garrison Boulevard and Alto Road

Real estate and mortgage finance specialists will offer information about how to select, qualify for and purchase a home. A certificate is issued at the completion of the course.
