A Pasadena couple involved in a bitter divorce were found dead in their home yesterday in an apparent murder-suicide, police said.

Anne Arundel County police said they believe Eric T. Niesser, 36, shot Michele C. Niesser, 34, before killing himself.

Police were called to the home in the 100 block of Cottage Grove Drive about 11:15 a.m. after a neighbor called 911 to report gunshots.

Officer Mark Shawkey, a police spokesman, said Eric Niesser showed up at his estranged wife's home about 11 a.m. with a handgun. There is no indication anyone else was in the two-story house at the time, although divorce files show they had a daughter, police said.

Police had not been called to the home in recent months, Shawkey said.

Michele Niesser filed for divorce in December and was seeking custody of the couple's child, according to court records.

Eric Niesser pleaded guilty last month to making repeated harassing calls to his estranged wife, court records show.
