The Ravens are still awaiting a decision from free-agent receiver Frank Sanders. The team has not given Sanders, 30, a deadline to accept its offer but expects a decision to be reached before the draft at the end of this month.

Sanders, who spent all eight years of his career with the Arizona Cardinals, visited the Ravens on March 21 after a trip to visit the Carolina Panthers. Sanders led the NFC with 89 receptions in 1998 and is in the top five in catches (493) and yards (6,579) in Cardinals history.

While the Ravens await a decision from Sanders, the team bid farewell to fullback Sam Gash, who signed with the Buffalo Bills on Monday. Gash spent the past three of his 11 years with the Ravens, where he was a force in the 2000 Super Bowl season, but the veteran was a sparsely used backup behind Alan Ricard last year. Gash spent two previous seasons with the Bills.

Harold Morrow, who signed with the Ravens this offseason, is now Ricard's backup.

"They gave [Gash] an opportunity to be a full-time starter," Ravens coach Brian Billick said. "Sam knew what his role here was. We very much would have liked to have Sam back, but we wanted to give him the opportunity to see if there was anybody out there that wanted to approach him about being a full-time starter. It's going home for him as well. I hate to lose Sam, but those are excellent circumstances."
