Arundel man faces charges of producing pornography

April 02, 2003

Federal authorities brought rare pornography production charges against a Glen Burnie man, alleging yesterday that he enticed a 9-year-old Maryland girl to engage in sexually explicit conduct recorded on a home video camera.

Gordon Elliott Thomas III, 29, was arrested yesterday and made an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Baltimore on a three-count indictment charging him with sexual exploitation of children, possession of child pornography and attempted receipt of child pornography. Authorities said they discovered thousands of images of child pornography stored on Thomas' computer.

Thomas could receive a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison if convicted on the exploitation charge.
