Dora Elizabeth Smith, 92, housekeeper, seamstress

Dora Elizabeth Smith, a former housekeeper and seamstress, died Friday of colon cancer at her Joppatowne home. She was 92.

Born Dora Jackson in Baltimore County, she was the 11th and last survivor of 12 children in her family.

In her youth, she was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church in Monkton, where she sang in the choir.

She was a longtime member of Fairview African Methodist Episcopal Church in Forest Hill.

She was married for 40 years to Ellwood H. Smith, who died in 1971.

Services will be held at noon tomorrow at William C. Brown Funeral Home, 321 S. Philadelphia Blvd. in Aberdeen.

Survivors include a son, James Ellwood Smith of Joppatowne; a daughter, Dorothy E. Smith of Harrisburg, Pa.; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
