Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Southern District

Arrests: Two people were arrested Sunday on first-degree murder warrants in the stabbing March 9 of Martan David Brooks, 33, of the 1300 block of Carroll St. as he went to the aid of his niece who was allegedly being assaulted by her boyfriend near Brooks' home. Arrested were the niece, Arthea M. Jones, 26, of the 600 block of S. Sharp St., and the boyfriend, Michael Barnes, 28, of the 3100 block of McElderry St. Police said Jones was charged because she is accused of making no attempt to aid her uncle and fleeing with Barnes.

Arrests: Jerrian Burrell, 17, of the 600 block of Roundview Road and Andre Harris, 18, of the 2900 block of Denham Circle were arrested Friday on warrants charging them with first-degree murder in the deaths of Lamont Johnson and William Simmons, both of whom were shot Feb. 13 in the 2800 block of Spelman Road.

Theft/arrest: Officer Brian Salyers was patrolling in the 1000 block of Riverside Ave. on Sunday when he saw a man he knew from previous encounters carrying a box containing a power sander. After tracing the sander to a truck that had been broken into, Salyers charged Anthony Anderson, 46, of the 800 block of McKim St. with theft as well as possession of cocaine.

Northern District

Victim identified: Dwan Marquis Black, 18, was named yesterday as the person found fatally shot early Saturday in his apartment of the 4200 block of St. Georges Ave. Anyone with information about the slaying is urged to call Detective Michael Hammel at 410-396-2100.

Shooting: Police were seeking two men who fired several shots from a black Lexus in the 2800 block of Huntingdon Ave. about 11:20 p.m. Saturday, wounding Tavon Jones, 22, in an arm.

Northeastern District

Shootings: Two men were shot early Sunday leaving a party in the 2600 block of Kirk Ave. and were treated for minor wounds at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Baltimore County

Southeastern District

Theft: Stereo equipment, cash, 400 compact discs and a cellular phone were stolen Sunday from a 2003 Honda Civic in the 500 block of S. Caroline St.

White Marsh Precinct

Robbery: A man robbed a store in the 8300 block of Pulaski Highway on Sunday night of more than $500 while threatening an employee with a battery-operated cooking grill lighter.

Woodlawn Precinct

Robbery: A gunman robbed Chadwick Shell in the 7100 block of Security Blvd. early Sunday of more than $100.

Burglary: Someone entered a house in the 5400 block of Old Court Road during the weekend and stole a DVD player, 10 DVDs, clothing, a ring, body oils and a telephone. The intruder also ate chicken wings.
