Emily Doyle, a retired executive secretary and hospital volunteer, died Sunday of congestive heart failure at Quail Run Assisted Living in Perry Hall. The longtime Towson resident was 89.

A former Hamilton resident, she began working at what is now Exxon Mobil Corp. shortly after graduating from Western High School and retired in 1976 as an executive secretary.

"She always liked to volunteer in the hospital gift shop, but she also made many visits to patients," said a niece, Emily Kelly of Essex.

Miss Doyle was a lifelong member of Church of the Messiah at 5801 Harford Road, where she was sang in the choir and was a member of altar guild. Funeral services will be held there at noon Sunday.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
