Fessenden trio to perform at Christ Episcopal Church

Chamber concert is set for 3 p.m. Sunday

The Sundays at Three Chamber Music Series will present the Fessenden Ensemble Trio on Sunday. Clarinetist Suzanne Gekker, violist Nancy Weller and pianist Amy Klosterman will perform pieces by Martinu, Bloch, Williams and Bruch.

Founded in 2000, the Fessenden Ensemble consists of 13 members, representing strings, woodwinds, brass and piano. The members were drawn from groups such as the National Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Kennedy Center Opera Orchestra, "President's Own" Marine Band, White House Chamber Orchestra, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

Klosterman graduated from the Peabody Conservatory and is on the faculty of Baltimore School for the Arts. An active chamber musician and recitalist in the Baltimore-Washington area, she also served as artistic ambassador to southern Africa for the State Department.

The concert is to begin at 3 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 6800 Oakland Mills Road, Columbia. Tickets, which are available at the door, are $15; children, through age 18 are admitted free with a paying adult. The audience is invited for light refreshments and conversation with the artists after the concert.
