Among the assorted characters Susan Mele portrayed in her one-woman show at the Theatre Project last season was an over-the-top, sleazy lounge singer named Roxie Starr. Now Mele and co-writer Leah Ryan have given Roxie her very own show, Roxie Starr in 3-D With Elvis, which premieres at the Theatre Project tonight.

Set in a nightclub as well as in Roxie's dressing room, the show also features actors Eugene Bubba Lloyd and Daniel Allen Nelson and pianist Daniel C. Meyer. It will be preceded by an appearance by a trio of Elvises portrayed by Lloyd, Matthew Sahr and Anne Weshinsky. The evening is directed by Kirsten Laurel. Roxie's original songs have music by Meyer and lyrics by Ryan.

Show times at the Theatre Project, 45 W. Preston St., are 8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays, through April 13. The Elvis pre-show begins at 7:45 p.m. Tickets are $15. For more information, call 410-752-8558.
