On Wednesday March 18, 2003 CLARENCE S. passed following a lenghty illness at The Genesis Eldercare Howewood Nursing Center. He is survived by his beloved wife Margaret Griffin (nee Moore), a legacy of six children, Sylvia S. Taylor, Gloria J. Wilson, Clarence H. Griffin, Wonda G. Adams, Doris E. Smith and Sharon L. Foreman. He is also survived by two sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, three sisters and one brother. Clarence loved God and believed in family. He was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His gift of giving and his nurturing spirit drew many to him. He willingly extended himself and shared his love with others. Mr. Griffin was born and educated in Elizabeth City, NC after which he relocated to Baltimore, MD. He served honorably in the US Navy during World War II from Janurary 1944 through January 1946 after which he embarked upon a 35 year career which included the Navy Shipyard, the Diamond Construction Co and the McClean Construction Co. A Christian wake will be held Mt. Pleasant Church Ministries on Tuesday March 25 at 10:30 A.M. Funeral Services to follow at 11 A.M. Interment Garrison Forest Cemetery Owings Mills, MD.
