Volunteers needed to install tree shelters at stream

March 16, 2003

Volunteers are being sought for the ninth annual Harford County Stream Conservation Project, which involves installing tree shelters on newly planted seedlings along a tributary to Bynum Run. The installations begin at 9 a.m. April 18 in Creswell Park in Creswell.

Participants should bring work boots, gloves, a hammer for driving in tree shelter stakes and a bag lunch. Participants can earn community service hours while helping to conserve Bynum Run and the Chesapeake Bay.

The event is sponsored by Maryland Trout Unlimited, Harford County Government and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources' Forest Service.
