On March 6, 2002, JACK VEZERIS, 80, of Annapolis, MD, died peacefully at home with his family. Born E. Harlem, NY, 1923, Jack raised his family in Dix Hills, NY, and settled in Annapolis in 1989. He was an active member of Ss Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church. Beloved husband for 56 years of Helen (nee Anagnostakos), devoted father to John and Jane Vezeris of Severna Park, MD, Peter Vezeris of Edgewater, MD, and Olga and John Halpin of Patchogue, NY, cherished grandfather of Brian and Kathy Russo and her son Michael Schade, Nicholas Halpin, Alexander Halpin and Christian Halpin. Predeceased by his precious granddaughter Crista Elena Vezeris, and great-grandson Matthew Brian Russo, loving great-grandfather of Jacqueline Patricia Russo. He is also survived by his dear sister Helen Tombrakos and was a very special uncle to many nieces and nephews. Jack was a proud veteran of WWII serving with the 8th Army Air Force. A second generation florist, he won numerous awards for his designs and originality. He brought love , joy and laughter to all that knew himReposing at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD, on Saturday, March 8, 2003 from 7 to 9 P. M and Sunday, March 9, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Funeral services will be on Monday, March 10, 2003 at 10 A. M at Ss. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2747 Riva Road, Annapolis, MD. Interment to follow at St. Anne's Cemetery in Annapolis, MD. The family suggests donations be made in memory of Jack Vezeris to Ss Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2747 Riva Road, Annapolis, MD, 21401.
