Senate approves public breastfeeding

March 06, 2003

ANNAPOLIS - The Senate voted unanimously yesterday to grant a mother the right to breastfeed her child in any public or private location where they are authorized to be.

The measure now will go to the House of Delegates.

A bill that would allow a woman who is nursing to be excused from jury duty was approved by a Senate committee last week and is expected to be voted on by the full Senate soon.
