Robert Henry Little, 82, Navy aviation mechanic

Robert Henry Little, a retired Navy aviation mechanic, died Sunday of a blood clot at Carroll County General Hospital. He was 82 and lived in Westminster.

Mr. Little was born and raised on a farm in Whiteford, and attended Harford County public schools.

He joined the Navy in 1942 as an aviation mechanic and served in the Pacific theater, including Guadalcanal. After the war, he had assignments at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Maryland, and at naval air stations in Oakland, Calif., Pensacola, Fla., and Brunswick, Ga. He retired in 1962.

He later worked as a boiler room mechanic for nine years at Congoleum Corp. in Finksburg, retiring in 1972.

Mr. Little enjoyed fishing and vegetable gardening.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. March 22 at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, the former Ruth A. Brehm; two sons, William Henry Little of Mililani, Hawaii, and Thomas Edward Little of Finksburg; a daughter, Roberta May Edleblute of Stewartstown, Pa.; a brother, Augustus Little of Whiteford; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
