Transit research group elects Yaksich to executive panel

Nick Yaksich of Clarksville has been elected to the executive committee of the Road Information Program, a national nonprofit transportation research group in Washington.

He is vice president of government affairs for the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, an international trade group serving construction equipment manufacturers and providers of construction services.

The Road Information Program researches, evaluates and distributes economic and technical data on highway transportation issues.

Bouma is first recipient of Price scholarship

Carolyn West Price, president of IMPACT Marketing & Public Relations Inc., has announced that Darla Dawn Bouma is the first recipient of the Jeff Price Memorial Scholarship. The award recognizes a Howard County 4-H Club member who has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and plans to attend college.

Bouma, 20, will apply the $500 scholarship to her education at Salisbury University.
