Arlington Baptist scored 25 straight points in the first half and cruised past Garrison Forest, 59-12, for the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland C Conference basketball championship last night at Villa Julie College.

Faith Happel had 29 points and 26 rebounds while Brianna Wise added 24 points.

The Eagles also got terrific defense from Myca Scott. She held Garrison's Kirby Houck, who scored 25 in the last meeting, to two points.

The Grizzlies, who split their regular-season meetings with the Eagles, shot 9.5 percent from the field (6-for-63) for the game. After Houck scored the game's first basket, the Grizzlies missed their next 33 attempts.

The scoring drought helped the Eagles pull ahead 25-2 before Molly Grimm hit the Grizzlies' second shot with 52 seconds left in the first half. The Grizzlies went 14:46 without a point.

"We started out pretty hot," said Happel, a 5-foot-11 junior center. "That got us going, and everyone on the team put forth on our offense and defense. This is really cool, winning this."
