Robert F. Gordon, 69, Koppers sales manager

Robert F. Gordon, a retired sales manager, died Tuesday of pneumonia at Sand Lake Hospital in Orlando, Fla. The former Severna Park resident was 69.

He retired about 10 years ago from Koppers Co. in Southwest Baltimore, where he was a sales manager and sold piston rings to the aerospace industry.

He moved to Bluffton, S.C., last year.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., he earned an electrical engineering degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

He served in the Army and achieved the rank of first lieutenant.

He belonged to a Severna Park duplicate bridge club and played golf at Carroll Creek and the Fort Meade courses.

A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. today at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, where he was a member.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, the former Dolores Herald; a son, Robert F. Gordon of Orefield, Pa.; three daughters, M. Charlene Haley of Gaeta, Italy, Karen Chamberlain of Pinehurst, N.C., and Barbara Ward of Severna Park; two brothers, John Gordon of Bethel Park, Pa., and William Gordon of Penn Hills, Pa.; a sister, Margaret Herald of Bethel Park, Pa.; and 10 grandchildren.
