BOYS

Frankie Wright

Mervo, indoor track and field

The senior sprinter powered the No. 2 Mustangs to their third Class 4A-3A Central regional championship in four seasons at the 5th Regiment Armory on Feb. 11.

Wright earned 40 of Mervo's 112 points in a field that included then-No. 7 Old Mill and then-No. 10 C. Milton Wright. He won the 300 meters (36.6 seconds) and the 500 (1:08.8). He also teamed with Anthony Green, Damon Watson and Ronald Wright (his cousin) to grab the 800 relay (1:35.3). He joined Green, Craig Tate and Orlando Brown to win the 1,600 relay (3:38.5). Wright bears Baltimore City crowns in those same four events.

Wright has been selected to three All-Baltimore City/County track and field teams - twice outdoor and once indoor. Last spring, Wright was the City/County Performer of the Year and an All-Metro choice.

GIRLS

Patty Rawlick

C. Milton Wright, swimming

The senior capped off her high school career last week by winning four gold medals, setting two county records and leading the Mustangs to the team title at the Harford County girls swimming championships. In approximately 125 individual races over the past four years, she won all but one.

Rawlick, who swims for the North Baltimore Aquatic Club, won the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes, 9.31 seconds, breaking an 8-year old county record by 2 1/2 seconds. She also anchored the record-setting 200-freestyle relay team and the 400-freestyle relay team and won the 100 breaststroke.

Rawlick, who is heading to James Madison, will leave C. Milton Wright with three county records and nearly every school record, including most top-five times.
