EXPOS: Agreed to one-year, $4.1 million contract with P Orlando Hernandez.

MARLINS: Went to arbitration with P Mark Redman; player asked for $2.15 million and team offered $1.8 million.

METS: Agreed to minor-league contract with P Heath Bell; invited him to major-league camp.

ORIOLES: Signed free-agent P Rick Helling, who had been with Diamondbacks, to minor-league contract that would pay him $1 million if he makes Opening Day roster.

PHILLIES: Signed P Terry Adams to one-year, $2.9 million contract. Signed P Hector Mercado, P Eric Junge and OF Jorge Padilla.

SHREVEPORT (INDEPDENDENT): Named Terry Bevington manager.

Basketball

HAWKS: Signed G Jermaine Jackson to 10-day contract.
