Jennie T. Luparello, 87, homemaker

Jennie T. Luparello, a homemaker and former Essex resident, died of respiratory failure Thursday at Gettysburg Hospital in Pennsylvania. She was 87.

Born Jennie Serio and raised in Little Italy, she attended city public schools. She worked in a tailor shop before her marriage in 1934 to Robert McCullough, who died in 1963.

Mrs. Luparello, who had lived in Essex for 20 years before moving to Littlestown, Pa., last year, married Samuel Luparello in 1970. He died in 1991.

She enjoyed playing bingo.

Mrs. Luparello was a former communicant of St. Luke Roman Catholic Church in Edgemere.

She attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Littlestown, where services will be held at 10 a.m. today.

Survivors include two daughters, Jean M. Weber and Mary F. Miller, both of Littlestown; a brother, Daniel Serio of Baltimore; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
