Democrat club picks Haggerty to stay at helm

The New Harford Democratic Club re-elected John Haggerty, a former Harford Community College coach from Bel Air, for another one-year term as president.

Other officials elected at the meeting Wednesday were retired businessman Art Helton of Darlington, vice president; Jessie Bane, a major in the Sheriff's Office from Fallston, treasurer; and Wendy Sawyer, a mediation lawyer from Edgewood, secretary.

The board of directors includes personnel professional Bob Greene of Bel Air; Pat Kohler, a staff member of the Maryland State Teachers Association of Havre de Grace; Mike Hiob of Aberdeen, a sediment inspector; lawyer Charles Wagner of Bel Air; and paint store owner George Harrison of Bel Air.

The group also approved plans for a Web site and a fund-raiser May 31 at the Level fire hall.
