Play candidates to be read

Two marathon sessions of staged readings of plays under consideration for the 2003 Baltimore Playwrights Festival are scheduled for this month.

This Saturday's lineup includes For the Return of Albion, by Mike Fields; Smoke in the Canyon, by Rosemary Frisino Toohey; and Friends, by Peter E. Levy. Three more entries will be read on Feb. 22: Turtle Soup, by Anne M. Lefter; Grace, by David F. Smith; and When We Were Gods, by Grant Carrington.

The readings take place at Fell's Point Corner Theatre, 251 S. Ann St., and begin at 11 a.m. Admission is free and each reading is followed by a discussion with the playwright. For more information, call 410-276-2153.
