ROUSH RACING (NASCAR): Signed Matt Kenseth and Kurt Busch to new contracts.

Baseball

DODGERS: Agreed to one-year, $790,000 contract with P Giovanni Carrara, avoiding salary arbitration.

METS: Named Brett Butler part-time minor-league outfield and base running instructor. Signed 1B Mike Glavine, brother of Mets P Tom Glavine, to minor-league contract. Agreed to one-year contract with P Grant Roberts. Agreed to minor-league contracts with OF Prentice Redman and P Jeremy Griffiths and invited them to major-league camp.

PADRES: Agreed to minor-league contract with free-agent IF Keith Lockhart, who had been with Braves; invited him to major-league camp.
