Chamber offering networking events, seminar this month

The Baltimore-Washington Chamber of Commerce will offer networking events and a seminar this month.

"Techniques & Ideas for Professional Salespeople," a monthly motivational meeting for sales and marketing professionals and anyone whose job requires sales and marketing skills, will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Feb. 12 at the Corridor Chamber office.

Admission is free for members; $20 for nonmembers.

"What Can the Chamber Do for Me?" will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Feb. 13. Admission is free to members. Nonmembers are encouraged to attend.

A Power Networking Breakfast is planned from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Feb. 18 at Fairfield Inn, 4050 Powder Mill Road, Beltsville, and a Business Mixer will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 27 at Sports Fit, 204 Fort Meade Road, in Laurel.

Registration is requested. The chamber is at 312 Marshall Ave., Suite 104, Laurel.

Mental health nonprofit gets pledge of $25,000

Amerix Corp. has pledged $25,000 to Family and Children's Services' 21st Century Family & Business Partnership.

The nonprofit agency, which provides mental health services, hopes to raise $500,000 over the next five years for expansion.
