Three men found guilty in robbery, murder of man

Three men were found guilty in Baltimore Circuit Court Thursday of murder, robbery and several handgun violations in connection with the July killing of Phillip D. Kent in his Cherry Hill home.

Troy Lee Shepherd, 22, and Anthony Wallace, 23, both of the 2600 block of Spellman Road, and Donald Smothers, 25, of the 600 block of Hillview Road forced their way into Kent's home, according to prosecutors. Once there, one of the men held a gun to several people in the home while two others took Kent into his bedroom, stripped him and demanded money, prosecutors said.
