The Taneytown Economic Development Commission will hold its monthly business breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Feb. 7 at Thunderhead Bowling Centre at Routes 140 and 832.

Mindy Basara, anchorwoman and reporter for WBAL-TV Channel 11, will discuss "How the Media Define `Newsworthy'."

The cost for breakfast is $5.50, payable at the meeting. Reservations are required by Wednesday at 410-751-1100.

Lions Club accepting scholarship applications

Taneytown Lions Club is accepting applications for its annual scholarship for the 2003-2004 academic year.

Francis Scott Key High School seniors who live in the Taneytown Elementary and Runnymede Elementary school districts can apply. Applications forms are available from the school's guidance office.

Completed applications should be sent to Taneytown Lions Club, Attn. Dr. Edward Sauble, 2729 Crouse Mill Road, Taneytown 21787. The deadline is March 15.

New Windsor church reinstalls two elders

The New Windsor Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church recently held its annual congregational meeting and reinstalled two elders for another term.

Steve Manning and Dan Holler will serve another session with Elder Ron Williams.

The Rev. Paul Matthews is pastor.

New Windsor council: New Windsor Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Town Office, 211 High St. 410-635-6575.

Story time: Taneytown library branch, 10 Grand Drive, will offer Family Story Time for all ages (age 3 and younger must be with an adult) at 9:45 a.m. today on "Happy House," and 7 p.m. Wednesday on "Hungry Animals." 410-386- 4488.
