School's Winterfest scheduled for Saturday

Hampstead Elementary School PTA will sponsor its annual Winterfest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the school.

Games and prizes, raffles for children and for adults, a magician, a bake sale and lunch foods will be featured.

Church to hold auction, spaghetti dinner Sunday

Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church will hold a spaghetti dinner and auction at 5 p.m. Sunday in the church hall.

Tickets are $5; $3 for ages 6 to 12; and free for those younger than age 6.

Auction items will include antique glassware, gift certificates from local merchants, pottery and ceramics, and services offered by youths of the church.

Proceeds will benefit teens from the church who will attend a national gathering in Atlanta in July.

N. Carroll High group sets basket bingo for Feb. 7

The North Carroll High School Choral Boosters is sponsoring its winter basket bingo Feb. 7 in the high school cafeteria in Hampstead.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with food, dessert and beverages for sale. Bingo will begin at 7 p.m. One mystery retired basket will be won during the evening.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

Middle school to hold basket bingo Feb. 7

North Carroll Middle School will hold Longaberger basket bingo Feb. 7 in the school cafeteria.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and games will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door for 20 regular games. Five bonus games, three raffles and door prize tickets will be for sale.

Knitting, quilting classes planned at library branch

North Carroll library branch will offer:

Mitten class for adults at 7 p.m. Monday. Participants will learn the basics of knitting a pair of mittens and cable stitch. Anyone wishing to start early can knit 3 inches of cuff on size 5 double-pointed needles before the workshop. Registration is required.

"Landscape Quilt" at 7 p.m. Tuesday for adults. Quilters can learn how to choose the right fabric, embellish quilt designs and get tips on quilting in general. The first class will be an overview. The next two weeks will feature cutting, assembling and finishing. Registration is required.
