Marian Pindell, 92, homemaker, teacher

January 28, 2003

Marian Pindell, a homemaker and former teacher, died of heart disease Friday at St. Joseph Medical Center. The Rodgers Forge resident was 92.

Marian Haugh was born in Maryland, but family members were uncertain of the exact place of birth because her father was a Methodist preacher, moving from church to church. She was a graduate of what is now Towson University.

She taught at city elementary schools for several years before her marriage to Walter Y. Pindell Sr., an engineer for Black & Decker Corp. who died in 1990.

Mrs. Pindell had run the Sunday school and was a communicant of Sherwood Episcopal Church, at Sherwood and York roads in Cockeysville, where services will be held at 1 p.m. today.

Survivors include a son, Walter Y. Pindell Jr. of Rocky Mount, N.C.; and two grandsons.
