Choo choo! A reading party is coming to town that celebrates the beloved children's character Thomas the Tank Engine.

On Wednesday, the staff at Brooklyn Park Branch Library invites kids 3 to 7 for stories, songs and crafts all about the popular locomotive.

The event will begin with a five-minute Thomas video and a reading of Happy Birthday Thomas by Wilbert Vere Awdry. After that, kids can participate in a sing-along including the tunes "The Wheels on the Train" and "One Little Engine, Two Little Engines, Three Little Engines."

The party offers kids cut-outs to color, as well as the opportunity to be a part of the library's train-track mural by writing their names and favorite Thomas characters on paper train engines and putting them on the wall.

This railroad celebration also provides lemonade and cookies.

The event begins at 3:30 p.m. at 1 E. 11th Ave. off Ritchie Highway. Call 410-222-6260.
