Library offering online homework tutoring aid
The Howard County Library is providing Tutor.com, a service that connects students in grades 4 through 12 to live online homework assistance.
The service, provided through the A+ Partners in Education cooperative initiative of the library and school system, is available through the "Live Homework Help" button on the library's Web site, www.HC Library.org.
Sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade Howard County pupils have used the service most. English, math and social studies have been the most popular subjects. Students can save and print their sessions for reference.
The service is available from 2 p.m. to midnight, seven days a week. Students who want to use it must have a library card. A personal identification number, which can be obtained at the library, may also be required at a future date.
Information is available at local libraries.
