Md. homebuilder group presents awards

Clark Turner Companies recognized for Harford's Shores at Water's Edge

The Land Development Council of the Home Builders Association of Maryland has announced its ninth annual Award of Excellence winners:

The winner of residential project of the year is Clark Turner Companies for the Shores at Water's Edge in Harford County. The engineer for the project is Morris & Ritchie Associates Inc., and the primary contractor is Crouse Construction.

The winner of the commercial project of the year is Sturbridge Homes, Sturbridge Development Co. and the Erwin L. Greenberg Commercial Corp. for the Village at Waugh Chapel in Anne Arundel County. The engineer for the project is Tech Group, Martin Architectural Group.

Other Awards of Excellence went to:

Baltimore County's Department of Recreation and Parks for the Reisterstown Regional Park in Baltimore County. The engineer was Morris & Ritchie Associates Inc., and the primary contractor was Comer Construction Inc.

The Gwynns Falls Limited Partnership was honored for the Villages at Woodholme in Baltimore County. The engineer was Daft-McCune-Walker Inc., and the primary contractors were Gray & Son Inc., Beechfield Landscaping Inc. and Monick Contracting Co. Inc.

The Orchard Development Corp. was honored for Hickory Crest in Howard County. The engineer was Lessard Group LDR, and the contractor was Patriot Homes Inc.

Silver Merit Awards went to:

Chesapeake Realty & Development for Wellington Terrace in Frederick County. The engineer for this project was Morris & Ritchie Associates Inc., and the contractor was Conewago Enterprises.

Pulte Home Corp. for The Paddocks in Howard County. The engineer was Fisher, Collins and Carter Inc., and the contractor was Bowen and Kron Inc.

Petrie Ventures for The Centre at Golden Ring in Baltimore County. The engineer was Morris & Ritchie Associates Inc., and the contractor was Chesapeake Site Contracting Inc.

Honorable mentions went to:

Grayson Land Development LLC for the Saffell Property in Baltimore County.

Chesapeake Realty & Development for Stone Manor II in Carroll County.

Joppa East LLC for Gunpowder in Harford County.

Ryland Homes for The Preserve at Mount Hebron in Howard County.

The homebuilders association also recognized Len Parrish, G.W. Stephens Jr. & Associates Inc. as consultant of the year; David Forestor of The Rouse Co. for lifetime achievement; M.T. Lancy & Co. Inc. as contractor of the year; and Clark Turner of Clark Turner Companies as developer of the year.

The association's awards are intended to give industry recognize excellence in design and quality of land development.
